Kara & Tyler | Wedding Highlights

March in Maryland is unpredictable, better known for snowstorms than sunshine. Even so, Kara and Tyler picked the most perfect, breezy, warm, and sunny day to exchange vows overlooking the Patapsco River.

It was so incredibly fun getting to know the newlyweds! If you spend just moments with these two, it's clear how strong their connection is, and how truly and deeply they love each other. That part of the job never gets old.

Kara and Tyler both swiped right, and started talking right away. "I didn't want to go to sleep," Kara told me. "I just wanted to keep talking to this amazing, charismatic guy. Two days later he picked me up from work and took me on the most memorable first date."

Their first date included Kara meeting Tyler's mom ("talk about pressure!"), boating to Coconut Joe's for dinner and drinks, admiring the stars, and going for a late night swim. Quickly, Tyler knew this was The One. "I had a feeling, ever since we met in person, that she was perfect for me," he said. "As time went on, she never proved that theory wrong. And here we are."

She realized this was it when Tyler had to go on a business trip a couple months into their relationship. "When he was gone and I had a bad day, thinking about him is what got me through. After that, I couldn't picture my life without him in it."

"We talked about getting married and having babies since we first fell in love," Kara said. "I thought he was going to propose on our anniversary," –Tyler admits he laid down 'subtle hints' that their anniversary was going to 'be the best one ever' to trick Kara – "but instead he did it on our trip to Cabo."

After a meal at a cliff-side restaurant, they walked down closer to the water to take pictures. That's where Tyler got down on one knee "with the most gorgeous ring," Kara recounted. She first had to clarify that this wasn't a joke. Then she said yes (three times, they both remember). "It was so surreal. It was like a fairytale and I was the princess."

Kara & Tyler are such generous, goofy, warm souls and their wedding was a testament to that. They were truly the perfect couple to kick off my 2019 wedding season!
