Your Wedding Party Should Be These 3 Things
Okay, you've got the ring. Cue the confetti! Hopefully you are able to take a moment to let your engagement sink in before being thrown into wedding planning.
When it comes to your big day, one of the most exciting decisions is who your bridesmaids or groomsmen will be! The average wedding party size is 5 on each side, which is also a great number for photos and videos, but of course you can have as few or as many as you see fit. Whether you've known for years who you want standing beside you on your wedding day, or you're having a trickier time narrowing it down, I believe your wedding party should be three things: meaningful, enthusiastic, and cooperative. Let me expand on that.
Meaningful
This one is pretty self explanatory. Ultimately, I believe everyone in your wedding party should be someone you truly want beside you. Try to put aside expectations from others and choose people who are meaningful to you. Remember that this is YOUR day, and you as a couple should have final say.
Enthusiastic
No one wants a Debby Downer in their wedding party. Think about it - besides your partner and your photo/video crew, these are going to be the people you spend the most time with leading up to and during your wedding. You should pick people who are excited, enthusiastic, and willing to participate in all the events required of them, including taking professional photos.
Cooperative
If everyone in your wedding party is cooperative, your photos and videos will be a breeze! Sometimes it can be stressful when we're trying to get a wedding party of 20 people to look at a camera, smile, walk, and cheer. If everyone is attentive and cooperative, they'll be helping us AND you, and the sooner we're done with photos, the sooner they can get to the bar.
